Players That Could Stand Out For Dortmund This Season

Players That Could Stand Out For Dortmund This Season

For a number of years, Borussia Dortmund have, in many cases seen new challengers emerge into their usual place of ‘bridesmaid’ – with rivals Bayern Munich usually taking the Bundesliga crown.

While Bayer Leverkusen went one better and supplanted Die Roten a couple of years ago in impressive fashion, others that have leapfrogged Dortmund recently in the top four have included RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, the club has also been transitioning over the last few years. They have seen players depart – most notably superstar, Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid.

It is important the players are also in the right condition to compete for the title as well and they have the right habits, conditioning and sleep patterns. On the latter, in order to be table-toppers, if every player has superking toppers on their beds, this could have a positive effect for example. Of course, there are many other tools that could help, such as daily routine, though on the field, you would argue, is where it matters the most.

As such, we’ve explored which players could make an impact for the club this season and who may be important if the club is to achieve success.

Guirassy’s Goal Threat

An obvious one perhaps, though last summer’s signing, Serhou Guirassy has developed into one of the deadliest strikers in Europe – proving his season prior at Stuttgart wasn’t a fluke.

Keeping the striker fit will be of extreme importance to the club if they are going to mount a serious challenge for honours though there is no doubting his ability. Guirassy is the real deal.

Julien Duranville – The Next Talent?

A very intriguing option with a lot of potential. The 19-year-old Belgian talent could step into the berth recently vacated by Jamie Gittens (another young player who developed brilliantly) and he looks like a ready-made replacement.

He could well be the ‘next big thing’ to emerge from the academy and like numerous players before him at the club, may take the Bundesliga by storm.

Jobe Bellingham: Jude ‘Mark II’

Has the club finally found a replacement for Bellingham? Who better than his younger brother, who looks set to follow a similar trajectory? In some cases with siblings, often, one is considerably better than the other, though Bellingham junior also looks like the real deal.

We all know what his older brother is capable of – he is world class and Jobe could be even better. Great news for fans.

Karim Adeyemi: A World Class Talent In The Making?

Karim Adeyemi

The German attacker finally seems to be living up to his potential and looks to have a blossoming on-field relationship with Guirassy. This is a great season for him to push on and break into the ‘world class’ bracket of which he is more than capable of, though more output will be needed to help reduce the burden on his strike partner.

Daniel Svensson – Specialist Left-Back At A Bargain Price

New summer signing, Svensson, essentially went under the radar, though having signed him for around £5 million, the 23-year-old could well turn out to be one of Bundesliga’s bargains of the summer. He has everything in his armoury to become a very good specialist left-back and Dortmund could have a great player on their hands here.
