Five DFB-Pokals. Six DFL-Supercups. A UEFA Champions League. A European Cup Winners\u2019 Cup.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dortmund 3-1 Juventus (1997), Final | Iconic Champions League matches\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Zofs07xgYKg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Despite the club\u2019s many successes, only 21 players have tasted international glory while with \u2018die Borussen\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e9bastien Haller became the latest last week when his 81st minute strike ensured that Ivory Coast would win the African Cup of Nations on home soil.<\/p>\n<p>From the AFCON to the European Championships and the World Cup, here is a breakdown of every BVB player to win international honours while at the club.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"haller\">S\u00e9bastien Haller<\/h2>\n<p>Haller\u2019s story is truly remarkable. Concacaf Nations League (@CNationsLeague) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNationsLeague\/status\/1670638636835000320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"guerreiro\">Raphael Guerreiro<\/h2>\n<p>Across the Atlantic, in the UEFA Nations League, Raphael Guerreiro helped Portugal to win the inaugural 2019 tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The versatile current Bayern Munich man started and played the full 90 minutes of both the Selecao\u2019s semi-final win over Switzerland and final victory over the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ginter\">Matthias Ginter<\/h2>\n<p>The FIFA Confederations Cup was a tournament contested by the holders of each of the six continental championships, the World Cup champion and the host nation (of the following year\u2019s World Cup).<\/p>\n<p>The only Borussia Dortmund man to win this competition, that was abolished in 2017, is Matthias Ginter.<\/p>\n<p>A winner of the tournament\u2019s final edition in 2017, Ginter played all but one match as Germany lifted the trophy in Russia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-3406\" src=\"https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Optimized-ginter-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"Matthias Ginter, Germany\" width=\"632\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Optimized-ginter-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Optimized-ginter.jpeg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"langerak\">Mitchell Langerak<\/h2>\n<p>The most recent Asian Cup winner to play for \u2018die Schwarzgelben\u2019 is Australian goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all of his international caps coming in international friendlies, Roman Weidenfeller\u2019s former understudy still received a medal when the Socceroos won on home soil in 2015.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"hummels\">Erik Durm, Kevin Gro\u00dfkreutz, Mats Hummels &amp; Roman Weidenfeller<\/h2>\n<p>A year earlier, BVB\u2019s last World Cup winners reached the pinnacle of the game.<\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s homegrown quartet of Erik Durm, Kevin Gro\u00dfkreutz, Mats Hummels and Roman Weidenfeller were all included in the Germany squad that became champions in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-3010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Optimized-weidenfeller-300x193.jpeg\" alt=\"Germany's Roman Weidenfeller with the World Cup trophy\" width=\"640\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Optimized-weidenfeller-300x193.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.borussiadortmund.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Optimized-weidenfeller.jpeg 525w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Neither Weidenfeller, Durm nor Gro\u00dfkreutz got a kick for Joachim L\u00f6w\u2019s side but they won\u2019t mind at all.<\/p>\n<p>A star-studded German side that tore the hosts apart at the semi-final stage had a rock to rely upon at the back.<\/p>\n<p>One of world football\u2019s most imperious defenders at this point, Mats Hummels played six of \u2018die Mannschaft\u2019s seven matches in those finals.<\/p>\n<p>A stalwart for \u2018die Borussen\u2019, the 35-year-old netted twice in Brazil: against Portugal in the group stages and the winning goal against France in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mats Hummels vs france | FIFA World Cup 2014\ud83d\udcb8\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O6NLz9zABm8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; as part of a \u2018three-peat\u2019 &#8211; netting against Algeria in the semi-finals, while assisting three other goals throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>This was Zidan\u2019s second successive AFCON title, having already lifted the cup in 2008; he moved to North Rhine-Westphalia from Hamburg that summer.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"sammer\">Matthias Sammer, Steffen Freund, J\u00fcrgen Kohler, Stefan Reuter &amp; Andreas M\u00f6ller<\/h2>\n<p>Borussia Dortmund\u2019s most recent European Championship winners came in Germany\u2019s 1996 squad.<\/p>\n<p>In the club\u2019s first golden era under Ottmar Hitzfeld, many of the team that won successive Bundesliga titles and the 1997 UEFA Champions League went to England with the national team.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/90sfootball\/status\/1758944409293353134<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Reuter and Steffen Freund played four times each, J\u00fcrgen Kohler played just once while Andreas M\u00f6ller played five times and Matthias Sammer played every match.<\/p>\n<p>Legendary figure and club icon Sammer, who won the Ballon d\u2019Or that year, scored the winner in the quarter-finals against Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>The sweeper also netted in the group stage, while M\u00f6ller also contributed a goal and an assist.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"frank mill\">Frank Mill<\/h2>\n<p>M\u00f6ller remains the only BVB player to win two different international honours while at the club; he also won the 1990 World Cup with West Germany alongside striker Frank Mill.<\/p>\n<p>Kohler and Reuter were also victorious at Italia \u201990 but were not with \u2018die Borussen\u2019 at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Mill didn\u2019t make a single appearance at the finals, while M\u00f6ller played twice.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"povlsen\">Flemming Povlsen<\/h2>\n<p>The Black and Yellows also had a Euros winner in 1992: Denmark\u2019s Flemming Povlsen.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Best of BVB Legend Flemming Povlsen |\u00a0Dortmund meets Danish Dynamite\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8xpQig_B2Hc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; Miroslav Votava<\/h2>\n<p>West Germany were also victorious in Italy at the 1980 European Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Goalkeeper Eike Immel was an unused goalkeeper in Jupp Derwall\u2019s squad while a 23-year-old, Czech-born Miroslav \u201cMirko\u201d Votava played the second half of their final group game &#8211; a 0-0 draw with Greece.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"kwiatkowski\">Heinz Kwiatkowski<\/h2>\n<p>Finally, the first ever Borussia Dortmund man to taste glory with his country was another West Germany international.<\/p>\n<p>Heinz Kwiatkowski lifted the famous Jules Rimet trophy at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>Across a 14 year spell in Dortmund, the goalkeeper played approximately 300 times for the club.<\/p>\n<p>At the \u201954 finals, Kwiatkowski played back-up to Toni Turek in goal and made one appearance in the tournament &#8211;
